The international Conference “Youth Work as a Tool For Rehabilitation of Young People Affected by War And Armed Conflict”. The event will take place on 11-14 June 2024 and invites international community of youth workers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Kosovo, and Ukraine.
Objectives of the event:
- to increase the competences of the youth workers and those working with youth with tools of youth work with young people affected by armed conflict and war;
- to create space for sharing practices of youth work with young people affected by armed conflict and war;
- to introduce the toolkit for the youth workers developed within the project “Youth Work as a Tool for Rehabilitation of Young People Affected by War and Armed Conflict” and the way how it can be used in work with young people affected by war and armed conflict;
- to multiply the project results within the community of practitioners;
- to promote the recognition of youth work as a response to the crisis caused by war and armed conflict.
Within the conference the following topics will be covered:
- Inclusive youth work and creation of safe space
- Psychological well-being and mental health through youth work. Psychological well-being of youth workers
- Peace Education in times of armed conflict
- Intercultural sensitivity in youth work with young people affected by war
The methodology of the conference
The conference will be organised in the blended format. The internation group of the participants will participate online through Zoom platform. Parallel to the internation group, there will be the group of the participants from Ukraine will take part offline. The programme of conference will be based on the principles and methods of non-forma education and include: presentation of invited speakers, discussions in small groups and on the plenary, practical thematic workshops using experiential learning, learning from each other approaches.
The participation in the conference will require from the internation group of participants possibility to be involved from 9:30 till 14:00 CET (the draft programme is attached to the call).
The profile of participants:
- Youth workers, representatives of youth organisations, educators, youth activists and everybody working in the field of youth from Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Kosovo, and Ukraine;
- possibility to participate using English as a working language;
- possibility to take part in all elements of the programme.

The conference is organised within a long-term project “Youth Work as a Tool for Rehabilitation of Young People Affected by War and Armed Conflict”.
The project involves 9 partner organisations which work with young people affected by war and armed conflict from Armenia, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Kosovo, and Ukraine. It has been implemented from 1 October 2022 till July 2024.
