The War Works Hard                      La guerra lavora strenuamente

How magnificent the war is!                 Come è magnifica la Guerra!
How eager                                                 Quanto avida
and efficient!                                            ed efficiente !
Early in the morning                               Presto al mattino
it wakes up the sirens                              sveglia le sirene
and dispatches ambulances                   e spedisce ambulanze
to various places,                                      in diversi luoghi,
swings corpses through the air,             fa oscillare cadaveri nell’aria,
rolls stretchers to the wounded,            offre barelle ai feriti,
